Its Spring! Time for a Body Tune up!

Spring is a wonderful time to take charge of your health.  The rising energies are all around us and can be seen in trees and flowers coming alive with new leaves and flowers.  Our bodies can harness some of that energy to cleanse, energize and set new patterns for health.

In Chinese medicine, each season has corresponding characteristics.

These are the ones corresponding to spring:

  • Element of wood
  • Liver
  • Cleansing
  • Clarity of vision/Goals
  • Direction
  • Purpose
  • Harmony
energy Qi

After resting in winter, the energy of wood bursts forward. It’s time to plant seeds for a future harvest of good health, make new plans, set your direction and move forward. Use Acupuncture to move energy (Qi) of the liver, help unblock ‘stuck’ energy that arises from frustration of not being able to move forward as quickly as the spring energy dictates.  Chinse medicine and acupuncture can help clear out the winder aches and imbalances and help you feel your best.

Choose fresh green foods (liver foods) such as sprouts, lemon, wheatgrass, alfalfa, apple cider vinegar, radishes, dandelion, and tender young leafy greens. It’s a good time of year to gently cleanse the liver to support the clear flow of its rising energy, increase the clarity of vision and harmonious movement.  Move your body with regular exercise which is essential for spring Qi as it reaches up and outward like a tree strongly rooted and flexible like bamboo to bend with the winds of growth.
